This week we saw temperatures from 55 degrees to 8 degrees and so I feel split in two. I am torn between winter adventures that must be done now and summer adventures that I need to be planned before time runs out.
For winter I am thinking of another try at snowboarding, cross country skiing, ice skating, more snowshoeing. While walking the dog on a gorgeous, sunny 50 degree evening this week I spotted a perfect wall of ice (now mostly melted) and wondered to myself if it was possible to ice climb on it and what the rules are for ice climbing in parking lots behind Olive Gardens.
For summer I am thinking of days bouldering in Northern Pennsylvania after I accidentally found this beautiful website of PA bouldering resources:
I am thinking of hiking high peaks in the Adirondacks.
I am thinking of trips to the Thousand Islands, Chimney Bluffs, World’s End, and Salt Springs. Places with beautiful names and beautiful things to see and do.
I am thinking of weekends rock climbing in the Gunks, weeks caving with friends in Georgia, and road trips to see friends and family.
I am daydreaming of all of the sun-soaked, warm things to come. I am daydreaming about all of the adventures I could also be having RIGHT NOW.
