So You Bought Your First Travel Trailer

Me and my husband to our family: We did something
Family: What?
Me and my husband: We bought a camper
Family: Like a pop up… for camping?
Me & H: More like a tiny home
Family: Why?
Me & H: *Indistinct shrugging and gesturing*

So here we are.

I just want to state for the record that this idea has been in the works for us for at least 2 years (neither of us can remember when exactly it started.) And we are not just jumping on the bandwagon of crazy people buying RVs so that they can still go on vacation during a global pandemic. We did, however, move our purchase date up from Spring 2021 to this Summer of 2020. Mostly we did this because the crazy people buying RVs had us worried that once we were finally ready, prices would have risen to the increased demand and decreased availability of manufacturing parts.

So here we are.

Day one did not go that smoothly. We had a hard time figuring out how to hook up the sway bar and the battery blew a fuse literally while we were standing there and we both had a moment wondering what we would do if we were in a campsite halfway across the country and weren’t able to unhook the trailer from the truck.

So here we are.

Anyone have any idea how to work this thing?
