Then Let’s Try Again
Well the last attempted adventure did not go so well. So we tried again. This time was Trevor Sperr Memorial Park in Elmira. The weather was about 5 degrees warmer, but more importantly the wind chill was a lot less.
The park is everything you could wish for. It’s got a playground, a pond, wetlands, a pavilion, restrooms, trash cans with dog waste bags, and miles of rail trail to walk.
We were cold and the path around the pond had two inches of solid ice. But it was wonderful. The marsh was lovely and lonely and beautiful and we walked fast to keep warm. Once Chief started to slow his furious pace we turned and walked back slower in the gritty mush of the trail. We were grateful for the sun warmed car to take us home.
