A student asked me how much I made teaching Intro to Outdoor Rock Climbing.
I did the math and found out it came out to about $6.20 an hour if I divided my pay by the amount of hours I felt like I was “on the clock”.
I jokingly said that the money isn’t much but that’s ok because I would do it for free.
Later on though, I thought it wasn’t exactly true. The truth is that I would PAY to do this. I would give anything to do this. I would make insane time sacrifices for this.
And instead they pay ME to do it, and I feel so much wonder at that fact.
