Christmas is over, the tree is sadly dragged to the curb, the decorations are put away. The house feels a little empty now.
Despite all this, we found some time for a little more Chrirstmas cheer in the form of the Broome County Festival of Lights. We obviously started with some hot chocolate, we tuned into the special Christmas radio station, we brought the dog.
In a pandemic world, date nights are in short supply. Especially date nights out of the house.
I wonder at times like this what Chief thinks we are doing. From his perspective the night went something like this:
“Chris and Kaitlyn put on their coats and I got super anxious because I knew this meant they were leaving so I cried and followed them around until they let me go outside with them. I got into the truck, which was a really high jump and we drove around. We made a stop at a place that smelled like sugar and good things and then the truck smelled sweet. We drove some more and then we stopped and talked to people in a dark place. We drove some more, only slowly this time and there were lots of flashing lights. It was very strange. After a while we arrived back home. Humans are weird.”
Yes we are, Chief, yes we are.
