I’d like to welcome the blistering hot days of summer. I’d like to welcome hikes spent in the cool shadow of a creek filled gorge, looking for hidden waterfalls tucked in on the side of lake roads.
I’d like to welcome running into a hot breeze and feeling it fill up every bronchiole in your lungs, hot mornings and warm nights, playing on the trampoline, sun dresses, the early morning sound of geese.
I’d like to welcome ice cream melting down your hands, the smell of sunscreen, driving with all of the windows down and the music turned up.
Most of all I’d like to welcome the long days. Every long day to come, and all of the things I find to fill it with.
