Walking Down Main Street

I’ve got a fever.

Spring fever, specifically. To celebrate Spring I tried another of the Broome County Dozen this weekend and was less successful this time. Jones Park is an odd little place that looks like an abandoned warehouse park. The trails are around back of a mint chocolate chip green building.

There is no service so I was immediately lost and wandered around with the dog until someone showed up and I could follow them. In addition to this foolproof plan, I took a picture of this map to help guide me.

We tried Creek Trail first but it was packed solid with ice and there was a creek crossing that just wasn’t doable with March snowmelt. So instead we took a walk up Main Street, I think. We took some kind of trail anyway and then we followed some red blazes for a while. It was icy and muddy and somehow we ended up back at the parking lot. *Insert confused shrug gesture here*

The parking lot was completely full so I thought it was time to bring our wet muddy paws back home even though we did not complete the required trails to cross it off the Broome County Dozen list. At home we dried off and took a nap in the sun and were glad for that tired feeling that fresh air and blue skies give you.
