I’ve never been to Vermont. So we decided to go to Vermont.
We stayed in an old farmhouse, we hiked, we climbed, we ate a lot of cheese.
I thought about how regular life is so much lacking in these simple things that I wish I could have all of the time. Time outside, easy access to climbing, a peaceful golden lit farmhouse living room, grilling on the deck, campfires in the backyard, cheese. Ok, maybe there is plenty of cheese in regular life.
I thought about past days when I was hiking every hike in Broome County to just see a glimpse of these things, driving to a camp in the finger lakes, driving an hour to the gym to rock climb. I still have to do that one.
I guess my point is that I’m grateful. I’m grateful to have found so many things that make life worthwhile and so grateful that I can keep chasing them down in such beautiful places.
If you want to do what I did: Get a Maple Creemee. Doesn’t matter where, if you see a sign, stop and get one. If you see another sign, stop there too.
