I try to think that I am a climbing rope. A climbing rope can take the force of a fall up to 5000 pounds, way more weight than can actually be generated by climbing. I am a climbing rope and I can bear 5000 pounds and that is more weight than can actually be generated by all of the things I am trying to do. I hope.
This is my 4th weekend without a break and I am teaching caving. I am doing a lot more work than I thought I had left in my reserves. I am stretching and stretching because a climbing rope doesn’t break, it stretches. It bounces back.
I feel organized and tired and I feel myself being stretched.
After I get back from caving I work an evening at the Challenge Course, giving seniors a send off before graduation. I am still stretching. I am wondering how heavy 5000 pounds really is.
