“Look, it’ll be a hard day” is what I say to myself when I know the day (or days) ahead will be long and difficult.
It’s a quote from Mad Max Fury Road when Max is suggesting they punch their way through three armies to storm the keep. When he says it, it’s the understatement of the millennium.
When I say it, it’s a reminder that even though I’m looking at a month of working 7 days a week, often 12+ hours a day, at two different jobs; one of which my partner has made clear he feels is a stupid waste of time but that I love desperately, I’ll come out the other side. Just like you came out the other side of that run-on sentence.
So, look, it’ll be a hard day.
Let’s face it, I’d rather skip the easy ones.
