“But life being what it is – a series of intersecting lives and incidents, out of anyone’s control – Sometimes we’re on a collision course, and we just don’t know it. Whether it’s by accident or by design, there’s not a thing we can do about it.”
I’ve been thinking about this quote from Benjamin Button a lot this week. Mostly because I was on my own collision course but just missed it, instead. I left for work on time and I keep thinking about the miniscule things that happened that led me to be a fraction of a minute ahead of the car that hit the guardrail and went spiraling out of control just behind me. All day long I saw the car rolling over and over just in my rear view mirror and (selfishly) wondered at how it had missed me.
Being Thanksgiving this week, I just want to be grateful for all of the simple, uninterrupted moments I have. I think we’re all maybe on a collision course with something, I’m thankful my hit didn’t come this week.
