If You Are Waiting For Permission, Here it Is

At this time of year I think a lot about A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens. Mostly because I read it every year around this time.

Usually I think about the joy of Christmas and all that but this year I’ve been thinking about how it’s never too late to change.

Scrooge was an evil old man who changed his ways overnight. I’m not saying you have to be that dramatic about it, or have a ghostly intervention to make it happen.

But if you want to be/do/live differently. You just… can. Consider this your permission to do it. Whatever it is, whoever you wish you were, do it.

What better time to start fresh than right now?

And I’ll leave you with this quote, not from a Christmas Carol, but from the Curious Case of Benjamin Button:

“For what it’s worth: it’s never too late or, in my case, too early to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit, stop whenever you want. You can change or stay the same, there are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. And I hope you see things that startle you. I hope you feel things you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life you’re proud of. If you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again.”
