Essentials to Bring Outdoor Rock Climbing

I have been taking a vertical rescue class and it is excellent. I have been compiling a list of things that should always be brought climbing outdoors for future situations.

2 prusiks (7mm-8mm accessory cord tied in a loop with a double fishermans knot. Google it, it’s good fun)
1 dyneema sling (lightweight material that is super strong for its weight)
4-6 Locking carabiners (need HMS kind so that you can make a munter. Google munter hitch, that’s fun too)
1 double length flat nylon sling
Cordelette (for building anchors)
Grigri or ATC with guide mode
Gear or KT tape (in case a rope has some sheath wear that can be taped up temporarily)
Windbreaker or Emergency blanket (in case of weather)
Meal bar (in case you get hangry)
Water (secured to you with accessory cord, NOT the cap loop)
Headlamp (in case dark)

A knife (because any weight can be unloaded with a knife, but also don’t)
